About Epilepsy Didn't RSVP
It showed up uninvited. I kept going anyway.
Hi. I'm Enrique Jaramillo — a writer, a fighter, and someone who refuses to let epilepsy have the last word.

Epilepsy didn't ask for my permission. It didn't send a calendar invite. It just showed up one day and decided to stay. And for a while, that was terrifying. But here's the thing nobody tells you: you can have epilepsy and still have a life worth writing about.
What you'll find here
This is my story — told honestly, sometimes with humor, always with heart.
⚡ My journey — the seizures, the diagnosis, the VNS device in my chest, and everything in between 🧠 Epilepsy facts — real information, explained like a human being and not a medical textbook 🦸 I Did It Anyway moments — because epilepsy told me I couldn't, and I did it anyway 📣 Advocacy — for every epileptic who has ever been told to sit down, slow down, or give up
Why I started this
I remember staying up until 2 in the morning after my diagnosis, searching desperately for someone who understood — someone who had been through it and made it out the other side. I couldn't find enough stories like mine. So I decided to write one.
Epilepsy affects over 50 million people worldwide and somehow still feels invisible. Someone out there right now just got diagnosed and needs to know they are not alone. That person deserves to find this blog.
A note about the images
The stories here are real. The people in them are real — my family, my friends, people I love. To protect everyone's privacy while still bringing the scenes to life, I illustrate them using LEGO figures. Also they're hilarious. And honestly that's kind of the point — epilepsy is heavy enough on its own. A little LEGO chaos never hurt anyone.
You belong here — whether you have epilepsy, love someone who does, or just stumbled in by accident. Pull up a chair. This is going to be a good story. 🎬
